Groundnutoil surged at the oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today due to heavy demand from stockists and retailers amid restricted arrivals from producing regions.
Refined palmolein also hardened on sustained retail buying.
Castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial also strengthened following good demand from shippers and soap industries.
Linseed oil ruled stable in the absence of any large scale buying activity.
In the edible segment, groundntoil spurted by Rs 20 per 10 kg to Rs 950 from Friday's level of Rs 930 and refined palmolein rose by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 552 from Rs 547.
Moving to non-edible section, castorseed bold climbed by Rs 50 per 100 kg to Rs 3,100 from overnight close of Rs 3,050 and castor oil commercial advanced by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 650 from Rs 640 yesterday.
Linseedoil closed unchanged at Rs 860 per 10 kg.
