GRP arrests three involved in looting train passengers

Government railway police arrested today three persons allegedly involved in loot of passengers in Bhubaneswar-Palasa DMU train on September 9.

Several looted documents like photo identity cards, Aadhaar cards, driving licenses, besides bags and other articles belonging to the looted passengers were seized from them, deputy superintendent of police og GRP D K Das said.

At least eight miscreants had looted cash and other valuables from passengers of the train between Narsinghpur and Jagannathpur, near Berhampur railway station.

"We have identified the other miscreants involved in the train loot case and they would be nabbed soon," the DSP said adding their involvement in other similar cases are also being verified.
