A GRP constable was killed in a road accident at Mandirtala area under Garfa police station area today, the police said.
The incident happened at around 7.40 AM when the deceased, identified as Suman Kalyan Sarkhel (29), working with the GRP, Sealdah, was going to attend a football practice, they said.
"Sarkhel fell down when his bike skidded and a school bus ran over him near Mandirtala," they said.
Sarkhel, a resident of Jadavpur in the southern part of the city, was pronounced dead on arrival when taken to a nearby hospital, the police added.
