GRP finds 270 kg ganja at Surat railway station

The Government Railway Police (GRP) found an abandoned stock of 270 kg of ganja, which costs around Rs 16 lakh in the street market, at the Surat railway station here today.

"We have found a stock of 270 kg of ganja at Surat Railway Station during our patrolling. We have learned that an unidentified person had thrown the stock of ganja from the Puri-Valsad Express today on the railway platform," Police GRP Sub-Inspector A K Bhabhor told PTI.

On the basis of a tip-off, GRP personnel were patrolling at Surat railway station when they saw somebody throwing bags containing ganja from the train.
 

"We managed to seize the stock of ganja but could not trace those responsible," he said.

The GRP is investigating further, Bhabhor said.
