Global pumps major Grundfos is looking to double its turnover in India to about Rs 1,000 crore in the next four years on the back of innovations like solar-powered pumps and smart solutions, top company officials said.

The Denmark-based company is betting big on its digital offerings like pumps equipped with sensors, which enable 'demand-driven distribution' and reduce wastage, to drive global sales growth, said Marianne Knudsen, Senior Director-Digital Offerings, Grundfos.

The company has also developed an Internet of Things (IoT)-based platform which helps clients manage their operations seamlessly.

These 'e-pumps' are a testimony to Grundfos' commitment to sustainability and energy efficient solutions, she added.

In the Indian context, the company is sharpening its focus on products like its recently launched solar pump as well as industrial and buildings segments, according to Ranganath N K, Managing Director, Grundfos Pumps India.

"We closed 2017 with a turnover of about Rs 500 crore. Going forward, we see Rs 1,000 crore turnover as per Indian GAAP in four years," he said.

Grundfos India is also looking to increase its 200 points of sale (PoS) and expand service network, he added.

The company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Grundfos Holdings, follows the January-December financial year.

The Grundfos Group is represented by more than 80 companies in over 55 countries. It reported a turnover of EUR 3.31 billion in 2016.
