Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd (GSFC) today said it has inaugurated its fully drawn yarn (FDY) plant at fibre unit at Kosamba near Surat in Gujarat.
"We have launched a plant to manufacture nylon fully drawn yarn at fibre unit in Gujarat. Under the present competitive market of nylon filament yarn, GSFC will achieve new milestones with the production of newly-installed FDY plant," GSFC chairman and managing director S K Nanda said in a statement here.
Annual production capacity of the FDY plant is 2,625 MT, which would increase the turnover by Rs 70 crore, Nanda said.

Commenting on future growth plans, Nanda said, GSFC has also decided to install high speed spinning chips plant of 30,000 MTPA capacity at Kosamba. Besides, the sales of Gujcon CRF & PRF, a product of fibre unit is also increasing gradually.
On execution of all these three schemes, the turnover of fibre unit will touch a high of Rs 1,000 crore, he added.
