GTA members complain to Governor against state interference

A delegation of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration led by its executive member (Education) Roshan Giri today called on West Bengal Governor Kesharinath Tripathi here and alleged that the state government was interfering in the works of GTA.

The delegation which comprised many executive members informed the governor that as per the tripartite meeting between the state and central government and the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM), it was decided the state government would not interfere in the GTA's work.

They alleged that despite this understanding, the state government is interfering in the administration's development work in the hills, resulting in unnecessary delays.
 

The GTA delegation urged the Governor to order an official inquiry against the state government's undue interference in the work.

The Governor assured to look into the issue and take steps accordingly, Giri, who is also the general secretary of the GJM said.
