Guar gum prices went up by Rs 75 to Rs 8,420 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators indulged in raising bets, driven by a firm trend at the spot markets, backed by strong export demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guar gum to be delivered in current month gained Rs 75 or 0.90 per cent to Rs 8,420 per quintal, with an open interest of 195 lots.
Guar gum for the most-active January month contract delivery also advanced by Rs 27 or 0.32 per cent to Rs 8,515 per quintal, in an open interest of 69,850 lots.
Marketmen said traders' fresh positions accumulated by participants in line with emerging physical markets, influenced guar gum futures prices.
