Guar gum futures extend loss on weak export demand

Guar gum prices slumped by Rs 102 to Rs 8,570 per quintal in futures trading today as participants indulged in cutting down their positions.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guar gum to be delivered this month was trading sharply lower by Rs 102 or 1.18 per cent to Rs 8,570 per quintal, with the open interest of 12,220 lots.

Guar gum for most-traded delivery in January also fell Rs 104 or 1.18 per cent to Rs 8,690 per quintal, with the business turnover of 67,350 open lots.
