Guar gum prices fell by Rs 29 to Rs 2,855 per quintal in futures trade today as investors cut bets at prevailing levels in sync with a weak trend in the physical markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guar gum for delivery in May contracts fell by Rs 29, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 2,855 per quintal, with an open interest of 36,420 lots.

Also, the delivery in April contracts dropped by Rs 26, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 8,752 per quintal, with an open interest of 29,965 lots.

Market players attributed the fall in guar gum prices in futures market to a weak trend at the spot markets due to fall in export demand.
