Guar gum prices on Wednesday plunged Rs 214 to Rs 5,774 per five quintal in futures market as traders offloaded their holdings in line with weak trend in spot market.
On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for March delivery fell by Rs 214, or 3.57 per cent, to Rs 5,774 per five quintal in 5,135 lots.
Guar gum for April delivery eased by Rs 212, or 3.5 per cent, to Rs 5,840 per five quintal in 51,350 lots.
Marketmen said trimming of positions by participants amid weak demand mainly dragged down guar gum prices here.
