Guar gum prices moved down by Rs 110 to Rs 7,645 per quintal in futures trading today following offloading of holdings by participants amid weak export demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guar gum for delivery in far-month November contracts plummeted by Rs 110, or 1.42 per cent, to Rs 7,645 per quintal, having an open interest of 870 lots.

Guar gum for delivery in October contracts also slipped by Rs 47, or 0.62 per cent, to Rs 7,528 per quintal, showing an open interest of 42,370 lots.

Marketmen said the lowering of bets by participants, prompted by subdued export demand amid sustained supplies of guar seed from growing belts, led to the fall in prices in futures trade.
