Guar seed prices traded lower by Rs 58 to Rs 4,199 per quintal in futures trading today on trimming of bets by speculators.
Market players said trimming of bets by speculators in line with weak demand from guar gum makers amid sustained supplies from growing regions at spot markets, mainly resulted in a decline in guar seed futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guar seed delivery for March slipped by Rs 58 or 1.36 per cent to Rs 4,199 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 18,620 lots.
In a similar manner, the delivery for the most active April month enquired lower by Rs 50 or 1.17 per cent to R 4,207 per quintal, with a business turnover of 1,347,190 open lots.
