Guar seed fell by Rs 45 to Rs 3,712 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators trimmed their positions in line with weak physical markets.
Market players said increased arrivals from growing regions amid reduced offtake by guar gum makers in spot markets mainly pulled down guar seed prices in futures trade.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar seed for delivery in May dipped by Rs 45, or 1.20 per cent, to Rs 3,712 per quintal, having an open interest of 41,000 lots.
Guar seed for June delivery also fell by Rs 38, or 1 per cent, to Rs 3,772 per quintal, revealing an open interest of 61,310 lots.
