Guargum futures traded lower by Rs 80 to Rs 6,520 per quintal today as speculators trimmed positions, triggered by weak export demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, guargum for delivery in December slipped by Rs 80, or 1.21 per cent down to Rs 6,520 per quintal, with an open interest of 18,033 lots.

Likewise, guargum for delivery in the most-active January was trading lower by Rs 80, or 1.19 per cent down at Rs 6,640 per quintal, in an open interest of 21,806 lots.

Marketmen said apart from weak export demand at the spot markets, mounting stocks on persistent supplies from growing regions, mainly led to fall in the guargum prices.
