Guargum prices fell by Rs 240 to Rs 8,810 per quintal in futures trading today after participants reduced their exposures amid weak export and domestic demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guargum for delivery in May slipped by Rs 240, or 2.65 per cent, to Rs 8,810 per quintal, with an open interest of 654 lots.
Similarly, prices for March contract fell by Rs 220, or 2.49 per cent, to Rs 8,630 per quintal, having an open interest of 14,522 lots.
Marketmen said apart from increased supplies from growing regions, offloading of positions by participants and subdued domestic as well as export demand mainly weighed on guargum prices at futures trade here.
