Guargum prices fell Rs 45 to Rs 6,230 per quintal in futures trading today after participants cut down their holdings amida weak trend at the physical as well as overseas markets.
At the National Commodity and derivative Exchange (NCDEX), guargum for delivery in current month was trading lower by Rs 45 or 0.72 per cent to Rs 6,230 per quintal, with business turnover of 6,665 open lots.
In a similar manner, the most-active delivery in February month conrcts fell by Rs 38 or 0.60 per cent to Rs 6,305 per quintal, with open interest of 36,905 lots.

Marketmen said the fall in guargum prices at futures trade was trimming of positions by participant s, triggered by a weak trend at the physical markets on subdued demand amid increased supplies.
Besides, slackness in export demand also weighed on prices, they added.
