Guargum prices spurted Rs 78 to Rs 6,310 per quintal in futures trading today as participants indulged in raising their bets, tracking higher trends at the domestic as well as overseas markets.
Marketmen said widening of positions by traders, driven by firm trend at the domestic and global markets, mainly lifted guargum prices at futures trade here.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guargum for delivery in January rallied by Rs 78 or 1.25 per cent to Rs 6,310 per quintal, with an open interest of 16,305 lots.
The most-active delivery in December surged Rs 71 or 1.15 per cent to Rs 6,230 per quintal, in an open interest of 30,615 lots.
