Guargum prices zoomed by Rs 210 to Rs 6,940 per quintal in futures trading today as traders widenend positions, driven by a firm trend at domestic as well as global markets.
Besides, weakness in the rupee against the US dollar also supported the upside in guargum prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guargum for delivery in current month spurted by Rs 210, or 3,12 per cent to Rs 6,940 per quintal, with an open interest of 923 lots.
Also, delivery in most-active far-month October was up by Rs 210, or 2.98 per cent to Rs 7,260 per quintal, in an open interest of 48,811 lots.
Marketmen said apart from restricted supplies of guarseed from growing regions, a firm trend at domestic and global markets, influenced guargum prices at futures trade here.
