Amid trimming of positions by participants, guargum prices fell by Rs 60 to Rs 5,740 per quintal in futures trading today.
Besides, weak trend at the physical markets due to subdued demand too kept pressure on prices.
In futures trading at the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guargum delivery for first contract March month dropped by Rs 60, or 1.03 per cent to Rs 5,740 per quintal, with an open interest of 25,966 lots.

On similar lines, April contracts fell by Rs 50, or 0.85 per cent to Rs 5,820 per quintal, having an open interest of 11,063 lots.
Marketmen said traders were reducing of exposure, tracking a weak trend at the spot markets on persistent supplies, mainly weighed on guargum prices at futures trade here.
