Guarseed prices spurted by Rs 136 to Rs 5,080 per quintal in futures trading today after participants enlarged positions, supported by a firming trend at physical markets amid overseas demand.
In futures trading at the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guarseed prices for the delivery of October month contract consolidated by Rs 136, or 5,080 per quintal, with an open interest of 840 lots.
Also, guargseed for delivery in July month contracts spurted by Rs 72, or 1,41 per cent to Rs 5,170 per quintal, having an open interest of 14,180 lots, while most-active June month delivery also advanced by Rs 42, or 0.82 per cent to Rs 5,161 per quintal, in an open interest of 38,030 lots.
Marketmen said apart from restricted arrivals, strong demand from guargum makers in physical markets and export enquiries, mainly kept prices in positive zone.
