Guarseed retreated by Rs 58 to Rs 3,927 per quintal in futures trade today as participants preferred to lock-in gains at current levels amid weak demand at the physical market.

Marketmen said trimming of positions by participants at prevailing levels and muted demand at the physical market, attributed fall in guarseed prices at futures trade.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guarseed for delivery in December month dropped by Rs 58, or 1.46 per cent to Rs 3,927 per quintal, with an open interest of 33,120 lots.

On similar lines, the most-active delivery in November delivery also slipped by Rs 53, or 1.35 per cent to Rs 3,879 per quintal, in an open interest of 69,910 lots.
