Over 17000 guest teachers working in Delhi government's schools will now get an experience certificate for the duration of their service.

The certificates will be issued by the school principals themselves and teachers need not make rounds to the Education department's office.

"The teachers will be required to fill the certificate in the format available on Directorate of Education's website and get the same signed by principal of the particular school," an official statement said.

The decision has been taken after Delhi Guest Teachers Association had raised the issued with Deputy chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

"To address various demands of guest teachers, Delhi government has formed a high level committee headed by the Principal Secretary (Finance). The panel will deliberate on demands including fix salary for guest teachers, provisions of maternity leave and casual leave," the statement added.

Delhi government had a sent a file regarding regularisation of guest teachers to Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung which is pending for his approval.

Sisodia, who is also the Education minister, had announced last month that the Guest teachers in government schools in Delhi, who were previously removed due to transfer and postings or permanent teachers will be reappointed.
