To ensure security and safety of the residents of licensed colonies in Haryana, the state's town and country planning department has notified guidelines for erecting security gates.
"It has been decided that construction of additional gates on roads leading to licensed colonies for security reasons would be permitted as Residents Welfare Associations of these colonies had been approaching the Department for seeking permission in this regard," a spokesman of the Department today said.
He said that the applications for grant of permission for erection of additional and security gates in a licensed colony would be considered by a Committee, which would be headed by a Deputy Commissioner.

Erection of unmanned gate would not be allowed and entire expenditure on construction and manning of these gates would be borne by the concerned Resident Welfare Association or developer as per their mutual agreement, he said.
The main objective of the policy is to provide sense of security to the residents of licensed colonies without hampering inter-colony and intra-colony movement, he said.
