Gujarat BJP today suspended four party members after their names cropped up in a complaint of gang-rape filed by a woman in Naliya town of Kutch district.

Shantilal Solanki, Govind Parumalani, Ajit Ramvani and Vasant Bhanushali had been suspended from the party, said president of district unit of BJP, Keshubhai Patel.

Gujarat government today also announced formation of a special investigation team to nab the culprits, all of whom are absconding.

"The FIR was lodged on January 25 at Naliya. We have taken this case very seriously and formed SIT under a police inspector to investigate the case," said minister of state for home Pradeepsinh Jadeja.

In her complaint, the victim, a 24-year-old married woman, said she worked at Solanki's gas agency in Naliya some time back.

Solanki and three others first raped her after giving her a spiked cold drink which made her unconscious when she had gone to his house to take a salary advance, she alleged.

The accused made a video of the act and raped her later on several occasions by threatening to circulate it, she said.
