Guj by-polls: BJP secures good lead on Vadodara LS seat

BJP candidate Ranjanben Bhatt has surged way ahead of her Congress rival from Vadodara Lok Sabha seat by 1.82 lakh votes at the end of nine rounds of counting.

"Bhatt is leading by 1.82 lakh votes from Vadodara seat against Congress nominee Narendra Rawat at the end of nine rounds of counting," an Election officer said.

Bhatt has, so far, polled 2,86,880 votes, while Rawat has managed 1,04,540 votes, said the officer.

By-polls were held in Vadodara Lok Sabha constituency after Prime Minister Narendra Modi vacated this seat.

Nearly 45.30 per cent polling was registered in Vadodara Lok Sabha seat.
 

Bypolls were held for one Lok Sabha and nine Assembly seats in the state on September 13.
