Senior Congress leader Gurudas Kamat today said his party is all set to face the 2017 state Assembly polls and has completed the process of obtaining names of poll aspirants for the 182 seats for internal scrutiny.
Applications from probable candidates wanting to contest the upcoming polls are already with the party and a scrutiny process to choose the final candidates is on, Kamat told reporters at the state Congress headquarters here.
Assembly polls in Gujarat are scheduled to be held in the later part of 2017.

He said demonetisation and its subsequent effect on the common man would be taken up as one of the key issues by Congress during the poll campaign.
Kamat claimed though Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised that things will be normal after 50 days (since demonetisation was announced on November 8), nothing has changed on the ground.
"Today is the 50th day of the limit set by our PM. Despite his promise, people are still standing in queues. 80 people have so far died while standing in such queues across the country. Modi is directly responsible for it. Both BJP and Modi will have to pay a huge price in coming days for this decision," he said.
"In the coming days, Congress workers across the country will hit the streets and stage protests on various issues," he added.
