Gujarat Congress today kicked off five different march rallies in the state to highlight Narendra Modi-led Gujarat government's alleged misdeeds including the snooping scandal.

Starting off its Lok Sabha election campaign in Gujarat, the state Congress have organised five different rallies from five different places in the state led by different leaders.

All these marches would cover 4,900 km between today and January 23.

"The Gujarat chief minister has been exposed in the snooping scandal, when he ordered surveillance of a young woman. To save the chief minister they formed a Save Modi Commission," Gujarat Congress chief Arjun Modhvadia said, while inaugurating the march which began from Porbandar.

"There has been widespread corruption in Gujarat under the Modi government. This government works for a few industrialists. Rapes, loot and murders are taking place in the state and all law and order has broken down. For Modi, he is the accused, he is the police and he is also the judge," Modhvadia said.

Other places covered by the campaign are Tharad in Banaskantha district, Varahi in Mehasna district, Naliya in Kutch district and Umargam in Valsad district.

Later, on January 16, the youth wing of the Congress plans to organise another 800-km long march across Gujarat aiming to expose Modi government's claims of development.
