"The state government has failed totally in providing drinking water facilities and water for irrigation in North Gujarat and Saurashtra-Kutch belt. The Congress party will undertake 'Jal Yatra' to open the eyes of state government about the problems faced by people," said Vaghela who represents Kapadvanj Assembly constituency.

He alleged that Modi government has failed to deliver on the promises it had made during the last year Assembly polls.

"The government lacks seriousness in tackling the problems of employment and housing," Vaghela said.

Taking a dig at chief minister Narendra Modi, the veteran leader said "in the name of Vibrant Gujarat, tall claims were made about investments running into crores and employment generation, but in reality more than 10 lakh educated youths are unemployed in the state".

To a query on rising case of burglaries at temples in some parts of the state, he said the law and order situation was on fast decline in the state.
