"...The Chief Minister has been raising non-issues and misleading the voters," Congress's Campaign Committee Chairman Shankarsinh Vaghela said here.

Talking to the media, he said, "In 2002 elections, Chief Minister raised 'Mian Musharraf' issue, in 2007 he claimed to have killed terrorists in encounters, and now he using the name of CBI."

"Why there is no investigation against you or me? CBI only investigates those who have committed a crime. It was Supreme Court who has directed investigation, not the UPA government or the Congress Party," Vaghela said.

Modi had said that Congress was contesting Gujarat polls 'in partnership with CBI'.

The Congress leaders, including Vaghela, however refused to comment on today's Supreme Court's decision upholding grant of bail to former state Minister Amit Shah in a fake encounter case, and allowing him to enter the state.

"The case is still sub-judice," said Gujarat Congress chief Arjun Modhwadia.

The Gujarat government also took the same line. "Court decisions are not meant for criticism or the celebration, we just respect it," official spokesperson and Health Minister Jainarayan Vyas said earlier today.

"Of course the family members of Amit Shah will be having a sense of happiness and a cause to celebrate as he will be rejoining them after a long time," Vyas said.
