Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today said her government was keen to bring back revenue records related to the state from Pune.

"Gujarat separated from Maharashtra in 1960. Some documents related to Gujarat's revenue department could not be brought back and without the documents, the department was facing difficulties," Patel said while inaugurating 'Krushi Mahotsav' in Morbi, about 75 kms from here.

But, now the state government wants to bring the documents back, in order to make easy the functioning of the revenue department, she said.

This was Anandiben's first public gathering after becoming the chief minister of Gujarat.

Patel also expressed hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would soon allow the state to install gates at Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam.

"Narendrabhai had been fighting to install gates at Narmada dam, he had been urging the central government to allow Gujarat to install the gates but the government at the Centre was doing injustice to Gujarat. Now Narendrabhai has become Prime Minister and I believe and everyone is expecting that he would give us the permission to install gates at the dam," Patel said.

She expressed hope that after installation of the gates, water problem of Saurashtra and Kutch would be solved.
