Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Jaswantsinh Sumanbhai Bhabhor today said the Gujarat model of Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana (VKY) will be implemented across the country for the welfare of the tribal community.
He said for the purpose, his ministry has been holding discussions with the ministry and agencies of various state governments.
Bhabor was speaking against the backdrop of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Limkheda village in Dahod district on his 67th birthday last week where he interacted with people of the tribal communities.

"It Prime Minister's wish to implement VKY across the country after its success in Gujarat. Our ministry has been holding workshops and consultations with various stakeholders in tribal welfare, including MPs, agencies directly involved in tribal welfare for effective implementation of the scheme in other states," he added.
