"Out of 182 Assembly seats there are at least 132 seats where Brahmin votes can influence the outcome. Looking at this ground reality all three political parties shall field minimum 15 Brahmin candidates each," Brahmasena Gujarat chairman Bhavesh Rajyaguru told reporters today.

He said the organisation will work towards defeating members of the parliamentary boards of political parties if the community is not given adequate representation.

"Whichever party supports the interests of Brahmins, Brahmasena will endorse it. However, if Brahmins are neglected or sidelined in allotment of tickets, we will work tooth and nail to defeat respective political party's parliamentary board members, who select the candidates," Rajyaguru said.

He claimed that in over 50 seats in the state more than 20,000 voters are Brahmins.

No office-bearer of the organisation will contest this Assembly election, he said.

Rajyaguru claimed that Maninagar constituency from where Chief Minister Narendra Modi had contested last time alone consists of 59,400 brahmin votes.

"We will work to defeat, no matter who will be contesting," Rajyaguru said replying to a query if Brahmasena will work to defeat Modi if BJP fails to field Brahmin candidate on Maninagar seat.

Earlier the organisation held a meeting of district heads and other workers across the state in which it passed the resolution appealing to the BJP, Congress and Gujarat Parivartan Party (GPP).

Assembly elections for all 182 seats will be held on December 13 and 17.
