Gujarat beat Maharashtra in West Zone Hazare tournament

Jasprit Bumrah, Kamlesh Thakore and Rakesh Dhruve shared nine wickets between them helping Gujarat thrash Maharashtra by 127 runs in the West Zone Vijay Hazare one-day tournament here today.

Gujarat made 315 runs in 50 overs and then bundled out Maharashtra for 188 in 38.2 overs at Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) Stadium, Khandheri.

Gujarat captain Parthiv Patel won the toss and decided to bat first.

Akshar Patel was the top scorer for Gujarat with 56 (40b, 7X4) while Venu Gopal Rao and Himalay Barad made 49 each.

Maharashtra did not have a good start while chasing the target of 316 as they lost opener Harshad Khadiwale (1) in the first over.
 

Kedar Jadhav (51), Ankit Bawne (38), Nikhil Naik (36) and Rahul Tripathi (28) got a start but Bumrah, Thakore and Dhruve did not allow them to build big partnerships, taking wickets at regular intervals.

Bumrah, Thakore and Dhruve took three wickets each giving away 22, 34 and 33 runs respectively.

With today's win Gujarat earned four points.
