Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Patel today launched the state wide Shala Praveshotsav (school enrolment festival) from a primary school in Dolatpara village near Junagadh.
The three-day initiative was clubbed together with another initiative called 'Kanya Kelavni Abhiyan', stressing more on female education and focus on maximising children's enrolment in rural areas.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister asked people to come forward in educating children without any gender discrimination.

Patel also boasted about how the Gujarat government took various initiatives to provide job-oriented education to students.
"A few year ago, Gujarat had 11 universities. Now we have 56, such as the petroleum university, Raksha Shakti University, Research university, etc. This has brought about a paradigm shift in the education system. Now students get jobs easily after passing out from such institutes," Patel said.
The 'Praveshotsav' initiative was first introduced by former Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi 12 years ago and it is celebrated every year across the state to increase school enrolment in government-run primary schools.
