Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Governor O P Kohli today welcomed the Centre's decision to scrap Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination notes, saying the move will end corruption and boost the Indian economy.
In an official release, the Chief Minister hailed the demonetisation move announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday as "revolutionary" and "beneficial" for all citizens of the country.
He expressed confidence that the step will put an end to corruption and root out black money.
A release from Raj Bhavan said that the Governor termed the decision as "historic" and maintained that the step would help in controlling corruption and curbing black money.
