Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is understood to have discussed the state's pending issues with the central government.

Patel met the Prime Minister in his office and is believed to have taken up the issues related to her state pending with the centre.

In his days as Gujarat Chief Minister, Modi's government had several times complaints that the then UPA government at the Centre was not taking decisions on matters related to Gujarat.

In one such case, the state government had complained that the central government was discriminating against Gujarat after derecognition of 150 seats and withholding of permission to start two new medical colleges in the state a couple of years ago.

The Prime minister also met Chief Ministers of Northeastern states including Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling, Mizoram Chief Minister Lalthanhawla and Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang and discussed the development issues in that region.

The NDA government under Prime Minister Modi has laid special emphasis on development in the north eastern region.
