In the wake of recent gang-rape and murder of two teenage girls in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Patel today asked the rural women to get toilets built in their houses through a government scheme.
"I request all the women to take up a mission to build toilets in each and every house with the help of government's scheme. It is necessary for your health as well as for your dignity," said Patel, addressing Krishi Mahotsav (farmers' festival) organised at Chhota Udepur in the state today.
She noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started this festival in 2005 when he was the Chief Minister.
