Gujarat CM scouts for more Chinese investments in Hong Kong

Gujarat has signed two MoU's with Chinese state-owned firms for the production of building materials and solar cells and invited leading hoteliers from Hong Kong to invest in the state.

The MoU's were signed during Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel's week-long tour of China, which ended today.

During her tour, Patel also participated in a well attended investor road show in Hong Kong, China's special administrative region.

Organised by the Indian Consulate and India-China Chamber of Commerce of Hong Kong, Patel attended the show besides meeting number of prominent investors in the city, Consulate General Prashant Agrawal told PTI.

Patel, who came along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to China last week visited Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong addressing business get-togethers, canvassing for more Chinese investments in her state including the new GIFT city, as well as the Industrial Parks.
 

In Hong Kong her delegation signed two MOUs with Chinese state-owned firms for the production of building materials and solar cells.

She also met leading hotel chain owners in Hong Kong and invited them to build their hotel Chains in Gujarat as numbers of Chinese tourists are growing as a result of increased investments in the state.
