Aiming for 100 per cent enrollmnet and reduction in drop-out ratio in primary schools, the Gujarat government will hold 'Shala Praveshotsav' (school enrollment drive) in the second and third week of June across the state.
At the same time, girl child education drive will also be held.
This initiative was first started by then Chief Minister Narendra Modi 13 years back and have been observed every year since then, an official release said.

Under this drive, ministers and officials of education department visit government-run primary schools to oversee the enrollemnt of new students as well as to provide guidance to the school staff.
Ahead of the commencement of the drive, Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today held a meeting with all the concerned ministers as well as officials who will be carrying out the drive.
In her address, Patel stressed on the need to remain in live contact with the school authoritis and parents.
She urged officials to hold meeting with the stakeholders and try to solve their problems.
The Chief Minister also asked the officials and ministers to focus on various other aspects, such as malnutrition and availability of toilets in schools during their visit to schools.
Patel also directed the officials to take follow ups on these matters even after the enrollment drive ends, it stated.
