Gujarat govt to organise 'Tiranga Yatra' on August 14

The BJP-led Gujarat government will organise rallies as part of 'Tiranga Yatra' on the eve of Independence Day to inculcate love for the country and the national flag among citizens.

The rallies will be taken out in the headquarters of all the 33 districts in Gujarat on August 14, Minister of State for Home Pradipsinh Jadeja said today.

"As the nation celebrates its 70th Independence Day on August 15, Gujarat government has planned to take out Tiranga Yatra in all the district headquarters on August 14. These rallies are aimed at infusing a sense of patriotism and love for our tricolour among citizens," he said at a press conference here.
 

Each of the day-long rally will be led by a vehicle carrying the tricolour and photos of national heroes such as Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Bhagat Singh, among others.

"The vehicles will be followed by bike riders, police bands, NCC cadets and locals. We also plan to organise patriotic theme-based musical programmes at the end of of the rallies," Jadeja added.
