Gujarat govt transfers 26 IAS officers; Taneja ACS-Home

The Gujarat government today transfered 26 IAS officers, including Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) in Forest and Environment department P K Taneja, who has been now made the full-fledged ACS of Home department.

The state government had not filled up the post of ACS-Home ever since former home secretary S K Nanda was transferred in October last year.

After Nanda's exit, ACS in Urban Development and Urban Housing Department G R Aloria has been given the additional charge.

After Aloria's appointment as the Chief Secretary two weeks ago, Taneja, a 1984-batch IAS officer, has been holding the additional charge of the Home department. Now, he has been transferred as the full-fledged ACS.
 

Taneja is replaced by Principal Secretary (PS) in the Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development department Punamchand Parmar. Parmar is now the PS in the Forest and Environment department.

Other key officials transferred today include Managing Director (MD) in Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) B B Swain, who is now appointed as PS in Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development department, stated a notification issued by state General Administration Department(GAD) today.

Swain is replaced by Manoj Aggarwal, currently serving as the MD of Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation(GMDC).

Rajiv Kumar Gupta, PS in Narmada, Water Resources, Water Supply and Kalpsar Department, has been transferred and appointed as the PS in Urban Development and Urban Housing Department.
