Gujarat High Court orders transfer of 48 district judges

In a routine annual transfer, the Gujarat High Court here today ordered the transfer of 48 district judges in the state.

"The Chief Justice of Gujarat High court and other judges are pleased to order transfer and posting of officers working in the cadre of district judge," Registrar General of the state high court M J Thakkar declared in a notification.

The high court has also ordered the transfer of nine principal judges of Sabarkantha, Valsad, Rajkot, Anand, Surat, Dahod, Porbandar, Mehsana and Junagadh districts.

Additional districts judges of Kheda, Kutch, Dahod, Khambhalia, Surat, Godhra, Bhavnagar, Vadodara, Vyara, Chhota Udepur, Modasa, Panchmahals, Dhoraji, Valsad, Patan and Ankaleswar have also been transferred.
 

The Gujarat high court has ordered appointment of 63 sessions judge and additional sessions judge.

Apart from this, five city civil court judges and one additional district judge of Ahmedabad has been transferred to other districts of the state.

The state high court order also includes the transfer of 15 ad-hoc judges of different districts of Gujarat.

All the judges will take the charge of their posting on or before May 7.
