Seeded Oum Parikh of Gujarat laid low his higher ranked rival Rayyan Sayed of Maharashtra to enter the under-12 boys final of the Parsram J Vazirani All India Junior Open Talent Series tennis tournament today.

Parikh, the no.7 seed who shocked second seed K S Vishisht Raam of Tamil Nadu in the quarter-finals yesterday, followed it up with a 7-5 6-1 win over no. 3 seed Sayed in the semi final held at the Vazirani academy in Navi Mumbai.

Parikh will play Siddhant Bhavnani in the final after the top seed beat eighth-seeded fellow-Maharashtra rival Rahul Verma 6-0 6-3 in the other semi final match.

Girls third seed Akanksha Nitture of Maharashtra shocked top seed Bhakti Parwani of Gujarat to enter the title round.

Under-10 Maharashtra champion Nitture defeated Parwani 7-5 6-4 in a two-hour semi-final to set up a title clash against second seed Sanya Singh who halted fourth seed Anaya Thorat 7-5 6-2 in the other all-Pune semi-final.

Nitture fought back from 2-4 to snatch the first set and again recovered from a two-game deficit to take the second set as well as the match against an error-prone opponent.
