Gujarat minister Govindbhai Patel admitted to hospital

Gujarat Minister of State for water supply Govindbhai Patel was today admitted to Sterling Hospital here as he became seriously unwell following an operation at another private hospital.

Patel, a local MLA, underwent an operation for hernia today, said his son, Ketan Patel. But soon he began to have problem breathing, and was taken to Sterling Hospital.

"He has been put on ventilator and several medical tests have been done to ascertain the exact cause," Patel said.

Hospital sources said Patel had been kept under observation in the Intensive Care Unit and he was responding well to the treatment.
