Due to heavy rains in the catchment area the Saradar Sarovar dam on Narmada at Kevadia Colony in the Narmada district overflowed this afternoon.
Talking to PTI on phone, dam's executive engineer J K Garasia said the water level touched the height of 121.92 metres at 11 am.
"At 6pm, our reading showed the water level had reached 125.28 meters and increasing slowly due to constant inflow of water. At present, the dam is receiving 8 lakh cusecs of water. By midnight, it is expected that the level would reach 127 meters," said Garasia.
