Legislators and Gujjars in Jammu and Kashmir today met Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and demanded concrete measures to ease tensions along Indo-Pak border which has heightened due to continuous cease-fire violations.
A delegation of Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha led by its President Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal called on Shinde and urged him to take concrete measures to ease tensions along the border.
They brought to his notice several problems faced by the border residents on account of prevailing situation.

He also demanded grant of political reservation to Gujjars of the state as per the provision of Indian Constitution.
A team of residents of from Hiranagar and Samba border led by Subash Gupta, MLC, also met Shinde and apprised him of cease-fire violations by Pakistan Rangers, targeting the populated areas with nortar shells to force the people to migrate from border areas to safer place.
Another legislator Durga Dass also called on Shinde and demanded putting an end to the cease-fire violations.
