Gun-running racket busted in Delhi

A gun running racket was busted with arrest of two persons who were carrying locally fabricated pistols and mounted guns from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh for supplying to gangs in Delhi and NCR region, police said today.

On a tip-off, the Special Cell of Delhi Police conducted a raid and arrested Komal and Kalu Singh from Captain Gaur Road in East of Kailash, yesterday, said Pramod Singh Kushwah, DCP(Special Cell).

A search of the van driven by the duo led to recovery of 15 illegal pistols. Kalu Singh was found carrying a black bag which contained 150 cartridges of 7.65 mm bore, the officer said.
 

Police found after questioning the suspects that MP-based illegal firearm manufacturers was supplying weapons to UP-based receivers who in turn were supplying cartridges to them. The loaded pistols were then supplied to local criminals in Delhi and NCR region, he added.
