A local politician was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Pakistan's restive Balochistan province.
Jan Ahmed Dashti, who was a councillor in the Dank area of Turbat, was gunned down yesterday while he was on his way to home.
Gunmen first fired at Dashti's car and then took him out of the vehicle and shot him several times, killing him on the spot, police said.

Dashti was the leader of National Party.
The official said investigations were underway to find out whether Dashti was killed due to personal enmity or it was case of target killing as government representatives have been targeted by militants in the province in the past.
