AAP legislators and Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta indulged in a war of words after MLA Alka Lamba played a video showing DU student Gurmehar Kaur holding a placard that read her father was killed by war and not Pakistan.

When Lamba requested Speaker Ram Niwas Goel to allow her to play the video, Gupta protested it, saying that showing any such video in the House is a clear violation of assembly rules. He then entered the Well of House.

Alka alleged the BJP is practising the politics of hatred, while Gupta sought to know if the Aam Aadmi Party supported those who raised anti-India slogans outside Ramjas College on February 21 and 22.

"I want to ask if they support anti-nationals. What is the relation between the AAP and anti-nationals? Why they support those who raise anti-India slogans. Instead of making Kaur, who is a daughter of a martyr, understand, they are provoking her," he said.

AAP's Wazirpur MLA Rajesh Gupta also engaged in a verbal duel with Gupta.

Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra attacked RSS-affiliated student body ABVP, saying those who curtail freedom of speech are enemies of the country.

A flag is lowered when people are stopped from speaking their mind, he said.
